After reading the article “How to Clear the Problem of the Waterways of the Alcohol Conservation System” written by Comrade Sui Wei of Huzhou Printing Co., Ltd., Printing Technology, No. 1, 1998, I feel that the four-point routine cleaning method in the text cannot fundamentally solve the problem. After practice, I redesigned and improved the dampening circulation system. Four years have now been used to prove that it is an effective and positive approach. The basic reasons for the poor waterway and improvement measures are introduced here.
In the past two years after using the Heidelberg five-color offset press in 1992, our factory found that the BALDWIN vertical alcohol dampening system with its associated heat exchange structure is relatively advanced, small in size and excellent in heat exchange. However, in the actual use of a long time, the compressor starts frequently, and is damaged or badly worked for many times, which results in insufficient cooling of the fountain solution and seriously affects the printing quality. Such as a large number of dirty spots, white spots, full version is particularly evident. The frequent shutdown of the layout and related parts, or even the replacement of the whole system of fountain solution, is time-consuming and inefficient, and seriously affects the efficiency. This is mainly the process of printing powder, ink, paper powder and other impurities fall into the water tank groove, infiltration into the water circulation, resulting in circulation of various debris, especially the tank pump outlet, cooling evaporator loop is blocked serious. The equipment can not be cleaned at any time, but can be cleaned regularly.
I personally cleaned the various debris and carefully observed the working conditions of the circulatory system. I found that the filter inside the tank was actually a metal recessed pad of a cotton filter pad. It was only 0.42m×0.4m×0.05m=0.0084m3. Can not meet the water filtration capacity of about 0.3m3. The newly replaced filter only a few minutes to enlarge the amount of impurities plug the pores and lose the effect of passing water. The cement floating around the impurities dropped into the tank, the unfiltered dampening fluid began a new cycle, and quickly blocked the pump, evaporation loop. Cleaning at this time is very difficult. Hand-dug, hooking, and rinsing take time-consuming work to affect production. In view of this situation, I have designed and added a filtration device between the color bucket and the total filter, and all of them are stainless steel. Since the installation at the beginning of 1994, it has been used with good results, the fountain solution has been replaced very little, the freezer has started normally, the malfunction caused by the blockage has disappeared, and the printing quality has been greatly improved. The advantages of this device are:
1 The material does not rust, acid and alcohol resistant, without any contamination from desolvent, and will not affect the quality of the fountain solution.
2 Place the bottom side of each color group without disturbing the operation.
3 The filtering effect is good, and there will be no overflow of water in the filtering tank of the original water tank, and the water tank needs no short-term cleaning.
4 The cleaning is very convenient. The filter element can be cleaned at any time without affecting the operation of the equipment. The filter element will not need to be replaced after being used for a long time.
