GT Membrane: New Look in the High Barrier Diaphragm Market

The GT film, also known as a ceramic coating, was introduced in the market as early as in 1996 by Japan's Daejeon Printing Co. and Toyo Ink Co., Ltd. and immediately attracted the attention of the packaging industry. In recent years, the demand for food packaging has been cut high, and higher requirements have been put on food packaging films such as heat resistance, high barrier properties, good transparency, and excellent microwave transparency. Although the current price of GT membranes is high and the physical properties need to be further improved, it is expected that in the near future, it will occupy an important position in food packaging materials.

Due to the excellent barrier properties of the ceramic coating, in addition to being used as a high-barrier packaging material for food packaging, it can also be used as a cover material on microwaveable containers, condiments, precision machinery parts, electronic components, drugs and medicines.
