As we all know, due to factors such as compatibility and compatibility between software and software commonly used in pre-press graphics and text processing or between software, the output film can not reach the desired effect, thus causing manpower in the production process. Material resources and other waste. It is the main content of this paper that exactly what factors in the output process will cause the output to fail or fail to meet the requirements.
In the pre-press links, the most important is the correct output of four-color film film, its quality is related to the final effect of the print, so the trend of the printing industry is: a good design and production staff will only create and design Is not enough, the key is to have a series of output knowledge to avoid the waste of human and material resources due to the operator's operational problems or the output's mistakes in the production process. This phenomenon is common in production practice. We often encounter such problems in practical work. An advertisement that is eager to look at the next day is too big to be displayed today. The request resulted in the suspension of production in the following series of links, causing irreparable losses to customers and printing plants. Therefore, starting from the actual production, I summed up some of the problems that often arise in the output process and solutions.
First, output traps and production skills
(1) Pagemaker
About page settings. After the document is created, if you use the software default cutting line and page information settings during output, the position of the cutting line is determined according to the “paper size†in the page settings. If the paper size is too small, it may make the document The content cannot be completely exported to the film.
About text. The first is to be compatible with the fonts owned by the output center, that is, the output center has all the fonts contained in the document.
Jumping words have spaces in the text, which can easily cause jumping. Therefore, in the text layout for the space, can be solved as follows: 1. Truncate the text from spaces and avoid using spaces. 2. Use the Tab/Indent feature to replace spaces with the Tab key. 3. In the case of text typesetting, there may be cases where simple and complex texts are mixed and the word skipping is easily caused. In this case, only the method of truncating the text is used to solve the problem. 4. When replacing a font, replacing the same font between different characters can easily cause jumping.
Bold characters can be bold, but not bold. Otherwise it will cause ambiguity.
The shadow effect of the font in the Pagemaker font differs greatly from the actual output on the display, and when the black overprint is selected, the shaded part of the font will penetrate the bottom.
In the Pagemaker document, if you place a bitmap in RGB mode. Since ordinary four-color printing uses CMYK four inks to print out different colors, RGB mode and CMYK have different description methods for colors, so RGB images have large differences in color and display after printing, and even color separation may occur.
It should be noted here that in Photoshop 4.0 and below, if there are extra Channels, it will lead to output errors. However, in Photoshop 5.0, when determining the use of spot colors, the corresponding Channel is defined as "Spot Color."
Bitmap file format
1. TIFF
In a Mac, if an error occurs when placing a TIFF image in Pagermaker 5.0, in the "control pannel", "Macintosh easy open" can be closed.
When you place a Tiff format image with a spot color channel in Photoshop 5.0 into Pagemaker, the corresponding spot color channel cannot be placed in it, so you can save the image in DCS 2.0 format.
Place a Tiff map that contains a Path, such as deleting the Path when looking at the map. After the output, there will be redundant image sections.
2. EPS document
When Pagemaker stores an EPS file, if "Include HalfTore Screen" is selected, the software uses Pagemaker's default printing accuracy (133Lpi) output for this image, thus making the image thicker after output.
Problems with color names. In Pagemaker, when you set a color, you must name the color, but if the objects imported or copied into the Pagemaker file contain colors with the same name in the document, those colors will be replaced by the original colors.
Overprint. In Pagemaker 5.0, the software automatically sets the 100% black font to overprint when it is output, but this adjustment works for lines and fills in the PM 5.0 graphics and image files. You can redefine the color (K100), or set the overlay in the graphics software and place it again.
In Pagemaker, when the color is set to be overprinted, due to the different ink infiltration degree, a “bottom-through†situation may occur when the object area set as the overprint is large.
Compatibility between PC and Mac Pagemaker
When the PM files of different systems are started on the PC and Mac platforms, the font problem is encountered first because PC and Mac versions do not have the same description of the kerning and line spacing of the fonts, so it is easy to cause jumping. Second, Pagemaker on the PC platform supports the placement of ConelDraw 3.0-5.0 files, which are not supported on the MAC platform.
(B) ConelDraw
About page settings. The cutting line is not obvious or disappears. If, outside the document page, there is a 100% acceptable color at the location of the cut line, then the cut lines on the color plate will merge with the background color, but not obvious.
Paper color settings. Under normal circumstances, the output will not appear on the film after the film.
Color mode. In ConelDraw, in addition to spot colors, the CMYK printing color is automatically converted at the color separation output, and the printed color is often very different from what is seen on the display.
About overprinting. In ConelDraw 6.0-7.0, when the output does not distinguish between the color concentration is 100% or less than 100%, all set to overprint. So under the non-100% overprinted object, if there are other color patches or bitmaps, it will "bottom through." To avoid this, add a color of less than 100% to 1% yellow.
About pattern fills. Pattern fills in ConelDraw do not change with the graphics. You can choose to use bitmap-filled objects to convert them into bitmaps, with the definition of accuracy that meets the printing standards. ConelDraw 8.0 or later does not have this problem.
Try not to import graphics files with EPS. ConelDraw is susceptible to color changes or Postscript errors when importing EPS maps, since ConelDraw only accepts ★. In the ai format, the EPS export filter includes other file information in the EPS file when exporting the EPS map. Therefore, it cannot be loaded into its own EPS file. For the complete graphics, you can use the node editor to fade the bottom. In Photoshop will fade the image saved as ★. PSD format.
(C) Illustrator
Place a bitmap in the file. Placed in the DCS format image file, you can not select the way to embed the Illustrator document, in the output, the software will not call the other four color separation document, and low-quality images, Corel-Draw 6.0, Tiff diagrams cannot use connection methods.
Spot color settings. Using spot colors in Illustrator can use either Pantone or custom spot colors that come with the software, but the same spot color must have the same spot color.
Overprint settings. Select the objects that need to be overprinted, and in the property bar, fill or line adjustments are superimposed, and for colors, add 1% yellow, as for importing EPS images in PM 5.0. Black does not do superimposition, while other documents, less than 100% black, have been superimposed.
About pattern fills. The fill color of the graphic must be a single color, not a gradient or other pattern fill. When rotating, scaling, mirroring, tilting, and moving graphics that use pattern fills, select a pattern collage variation in the Preference so that the pattern fills and the shape deforms simultaneously.
When zooming the graph, pay attention to changes in the thick lines.
Second, export film precautions
Exporting film is a seemingly simple and actually very complicated task. It is recommended that before the output center outputs the film, do the following preparations. Electronic file inspection: first check whether your copy of electronic file can be correctly opened on the storage medium, and some storage media, such as MO, floppy disk, etc., have poor storage reliability, so after the electronic file is copied, Check all files open again, including graphics files.
Secondly, check whether the copy of the electronic file is complete, such as Pagemaker Freehand and other group files and graphic files are separate, there is a link between the two, are indispensable.
Film parameter considerations:
1. First of all, we must know the design of the wound's survival size, the requirements of the film. Such as: Zhengyang, anti-yang, positive yin, anti-yin, there are required network cable and dot shape. If the layout is imposition, the orientation of the imposition is correct.
2. Font problem: The font used must be equipped with the output center. If you use a more outdated font, you should bring the font backup (Truetype or PS) to the output center along with the electronic file when outputting. It is recommended not to replace it with another font. , can easily cause word spacing or alignment changes.
Film inspections: A: Whether the surface of the film is dirty or not, sometimes the liquid and the crash roller rollers may cause stains on the film surface, which will affect the quality of future printing.
B: Is there any error in the content? This usually includes whether the font is garbled or not. The graphics are color separation, whether there is static electricity line, whether the film has scratches, and so on.
C: Question: The four-color version of the corner line, float line, and the label are all available, and whether the four films are tightly nested. In addition, because of the problem of film drafting and the accuracy of the image-setter, the monochrome version comes out. The previous version cannot be strictly set, so the four-color or spot-color version must be output at the same time, otherwise it may be impossible to set it up.
