Yu Yunxiang, Chairman of Zhejiang Dingli Industrial Co., Ltd., and Baobao Security Technology Xu Bin, Executive Vice President of the Company, Wang Yongjin, Deputy General Manager of Qingdao Hisense Smart Home Systems Co., Ltd., Zhang Gan, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Dawei IOT Technology Co., Ltd., Cui Yinglei, Head of Intelligent Business of Huanai Home Group, Bunge Intelligence Liu Jiwu, deputy general manager of Science and Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., conducted a fierce and in-depth discussion on the “opportunities and challenges brought about by the intelligent upgrading of traditional industriesâ€.
The following is a dialogue record:
Xu Bin, Executive Vice President of Suibao Security Technology Co., Ltd.
Ji Quansheng: I have a question. I would like to ask the guests here. Please ask your entrepreneurs to express their opinions. What kind of thinking are you going to enter the intelligent field?
Xu Bin: Hello everyone, there should be a lot of people who know about Suibao. Our company was founded in 1987 and it is just 30 years old this year. In the past, we were traditional enterprises and specialized in manufacturing door closers. We had a 30-acre factory in Wenzhou, a 60-acre factory in Jiading, Shanghai, a 40-acre factory in Jinshan Industrial Zone, and a 160-acre factory in Lishui. When the scale is at this level, we have more than 1,000 workers. When we produce 6 million sets of door closers every year, our output value is more than 300 million.
This time happened to be in 2003. In 2003, we entered security. The original name was Wenzhou Haobao Hardware Co., Ltd. After we arrived in Shanghai, we changed its name to Suibao Security Technology Co., Ltd., and because of this name change, we went on People-oriented, market-oriented management, and go very smoothly.
We started to enter the field of security door locks. At that time, the electronic control locks were imported from abroad. Later, the entire industry in China developed its own smart lock, which is the security motor lock. Then we made the electric door closer, because the door closers are mechanical, oil compression, spring, and then gradually develop intelligently. In 2010, we started to do fingerprint locks. In 2011, we started to do smart homes.
Ji Quansheng: It is clear that companies want to make more profits. I have done so many products before, but the output value is not high, so you are changing, then how about the benefits?
Xu Bin: At that time, we did smart, which was probably more than a year worth of 100 million. But for smart home, all our profits are not enough for every year, and the annual research and development costs reach nearly 10 million. So what is our output? I have been to Europe, Japan, South Korea and other places to check the market to see how many people use fingerprint locks, but these market conditions are more complicated.
In the country, we now have 26 offices, more than 200 agents, more than 1,000 dealers. Under this premise, the sales of our smart homes are not ideal. This is the status quo of our smart home products.
Ji Quansheng: What do you think is the reason?
Xu Bin: I have been selling for more than 20 years and have thought about these issues. Why are you experiencing this problem? Our traditional products are mainly made by Party A. You can look at some of our engineering cases. We have some high-end real estates in Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower, Beijing's New Poly Building, and even the Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security, Shenzhen. Diwang Building is our product. When we push smart homes, Party A simply does not accept this product. They say that we can't install every household at all. This leads to a problem, that is, relying on single products, how to do it well? We have spent so much money to go in. If it is a single smart home enterprise, it has long since closed down. We insist that the main reason is that the capital is strong.
Ji Quansheng: Any comfortable home is inseparable from intelligence. But we should not understand intelligent as a single product, including background music, more of a life attitude, lifestyle, but how to pass on their understanding of a better life to more people, and let more people quickly accept This is a problem that is currently very difficult for us to face. So, what is the biggest shortcoming and difficulty after the weapon is picked up?
Xu Bin: We are doing locks. It is also very difficult to start fingerprint locks. A product must be done well. It is not easy to do this high-end fingerprint lock on the market today. We have spent a lot of effort in the first few years. Our investment was great. When we were fingerprinting in the first year, we imported Panasonic's placement machine from Japan and spent more than 2 million. We also sent a special person to Japan to train for three months. Therefore, for the entire industry at that time, our hardware is really the first in the country, with its own mold team, die casting, lock body processing, shell die casting, finishing all done by themselves. Because of this, we can control the quality.
We have national-level CNAS accredited laboratories, internationally accredited laboratories, and accredited laboratories of the International Satellite Program, as well as the National High-Tech Industry Provincial R&D Center and the Zhejiang Technology R&D Center. Card.
We have been doing it for 30 years, and it is not easy to get to today. But now we know what our short board is, that is, smart home. The smart home is indeed a lack of talent, and because we are traditional, it is relatively simple to do locks. All of our fingerprint locks have interfaces to be docked, which is to dock the future smart home entrance. As long as the software is connected, it can be completed. All ports are free, and we have the strength.
But when it comes to real smart homes, I hope that all the experts here will work with us. What we lack is this one. We have a sales team, but what we lack is a good smart home product that consumers recognize, and lacks a more front-end product for smart life. The past smart home is just a single one. I think of a problem today, it is a synthesis - make an APP in the mobile phone, combine all the switches together, including security, fire, green, life, environment , all in it.
You open the app and click on the curtains to pull the curtains up. Isn't it faster if I take the remote control? If I want to control the lights off, I have to open the app and control the app. This is the problem we think about. But when we did it, I felt that this thing was very hot and it was different before 2013.
Participated in a summit in 2014, I said this sentence: the circle is very hot. Throughout the industry, smart homes, including any home appliance business, are very hot for smart homes, but they are very cold outside the industry. This is the status quo at the time. The industry I am talking about includes companies that are exposed to sales channels, including decoration companies, which are all in the industry.
Ji Quansheng: I know that Xu always means to develop smart home from the perspective of marketing and the perspective of the industry chain.
Xu Bin: I said this at the time, because I had been doing smart home for more than three years, and it felt a bit wrong. At that time, I said that many R&D companies in Shenzhen are doing smart homes. When we developed this product successfully and the market has not been pushed forward, our entire function will be eliminated. This is the problem we have to face. When we invested in smart homes in 2011, there was basically no market in the first three years. After 2013, I slowly got a little bit up.
Ji Quansheng: How is your current lock sold?
Xu Bin: There are mainly three channels, one is retail, one is Party A, and the other is decoration, and the decoration is relatively small.
Ji Quansheng: What are the characteristics of your retailer? What did you do before?
Xu Bin: Basically a traditional agent.
Ji Quansheng : That is, everyone will have a chance.
Xu Bin : If you are interested, you can find out about Suibao, because Suibao's smart lock is really good. If we have not done well in 30 years, China really has no good business.
