(2) Basic characteristics

(1) Enterprise miniaturization, specialization, product internationalization

In the past 10 years, the foreign furniture industry has undergone tremendous changes, and furniture manufacturing enterprises have turned from large enterprises to specialized and miniaturized. There are only 50 people in each furniture factory in the United States, 13 in Japan, 32 in Finland, and 100 in the Federal Republic of Germany. These small factory technologies are not backward, but they are flexible in operation, easy to change products, and can adapt to the fierce competition in the market. Coexisting with corporate professionalism and miniaturization trends is the internationalization of products. Today, furniture has become a global commodity. The world's furniture import and export trade is getting stronger and stronger, and furniture from all countries is actively in line with international standards. It should be said that the products are in line with international standards, and the market is in line with international standards. It is the general trend of furniture development in all countries of the world.

(2) High mechanization, automation and specialization of processing methods

Highly mechanized and automated furniture production is an objective requirement and reflection to meet the needs of the society. Developed countries have realized the high mechanization and automation of furniture production since the 1970s. At present, the modern furniture industry generally adopts new technologies and equipment. And new processes, such as the extensive use of CNC, namely CNC machine tools, artificial intelligence robots and various advanced finishing and edge-sealing technologies, so that the technical content of furniture manufacturing is continuously improved, and the further development of furniture to the direction of specialization is realized through technical means. To make furniture truly a modern, industrialized product. High mechanization, automation and specialization have produced amazing economies of scale.

(3) Diversification, newness and naturalization of furniture materials

Modern furniture materials are becoming more and more abundant. Due to the shortage of wood, the status of wooden furniture in the international market has gradually given way to wood-based panel furniture such as plywood, medium density fiberboard and fiberboard. Solid wood furniture in global wooden furniture accounts for 90% of 10% wood-based panel furniture, mainly plywood, particleboard, medium density fiberboard, blockboard, fiberboard and so on. The furniture produced by these raw materials is a revolution and a challenge to the traditional furniture manufacturing. While greatly improving labor productivity, the furniture style and shape are more beautiful and generous, the function is closer to life, and the use is more in line with the wishes of consumers.

(4) Product design to small specifications

The downsizing of products is a trend in furniture design in recent years. Small-size products are gradually gaining market recognition. Universal believes that the current housing is being converted to small units, and the northeastern United States is more obvious, so optimistic about the small size sofa (72 * 80 inches, about 1.83 * .05 meters) market.

(5) Transformation of international trade mode

A comprehensive analysis of the five major changes in international furniture retailers is mainly reflected in the need for more funds, more goods, less inventory, faster turnover, ordering to find manufacturers, and selling more ways. These changes will fundamentally change the supply chain of commodity circulation, promote the rapid upgrading of the three supporting systems of information, logistics and finance, and will soon change the current mode of operation of international trade.

(6) The application of e-commerce is more popular and deepened

Online sales of foreign furniture have developed rapidly. The website of the National Retail Federation has conducted a survey on “Internet sales in the US: revenue, economic situation and various channel analysis” in 2008. The survey shows that 81% of furniture manufacturers are in 2008. The network sales channel of the year is more suitable for this special period of economic downturn than other sales channels. The 10 famous online stores in the United States have opened credit card online payment functions such as Paypal, checkout, and google, and cooperated with logistics companies such as Federal Express to open a door-to-door service.
